May. 23rd, 2003 08:58 pmSchool having finished getting in the way of my education, I've started on my summer reading. Gibbon's The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, and Plato's Symposium, to start with. I hadn't actually realized I was getting to be such a geek until I looked at my pile of summer reading. However, I find that this is all rather better than letting teachers dictate what I should read... I like this. I really do.
And now, 'm off to watch Moulin Rouge for the first time, so that I will, finally, have some idea of what people keep talking about. 'm tired of being ignorant.
Oh, and has anyone here seen The Emperor's Club? It's out as a rental, and it's brilliant. It reminds me, somewhat, of Dead Poet's Society, but without the such dramatic moments as the suicide.
Does anyone have movies to suggest? Please? I finally have the time to watch something, and I've no clue what to get!
