Oct. 29th, 2005 11:49 pmI went to a party tonight.
No, that's not accurate.
I was invited to 4 parties and the Samhain ritual-ball thing tonight. I went to two parties, and convinced my roommate to come with me (it was lovely. It took about 10 minutes of convincing, and she had this FABULOUS medieval gown in her wardrobe for some strange unknown reason, but she looked amazing. And, erm, dear? Low-cut gowns? A very good look. Do it more often). The first party was
montrealais's late-birthday get-together, and
felis_ultharus,
jenjoou,
em_fish, and another guy whose name I forgot were very good company. And we had pizza, and chatted (for the record: put me and
montrealais in the same room, and our lives become Sex in the City, according to him. *shrugs* It's fun, anyways), and it was all-around nice. And, not having an actual physical gift for the man in question, I modified it... to an offer of a late-birthday cake-and-supper-and-drag-show, which could be more fun than an actual present.
The second party was a costume party, held by a girl I know from Women's Studies (who is an absolute dear) and her roommates, filled with people I didn't know but ended up more or less getting along with... And the costumes were great, the apartment was filled with people, and I had a lovely time. So, I'm apparently going to her birthday party, which will be fairly soon. In which I will be able to recognise the people involved, which will be nice. So, Roommate-dearest? Thanks for coming with me, it was lovely having you along.
More parties tomorrow, and possibly a rit on Monday. So, busy weekend - I love it. I'm actually caught up on my work and school stuff, so I'm not even feeling guilty for not doing schoolwork. Life is good, I tell you.
In terms of puzzling behavior, though, Matt, a friend from highschool who lives in the city, called tonight, at 6:30, 'cause he wanted to get together and do stuff tonight. And sounded slightly insulted when I told him that, well dear, it's the weekend before Halloween - of COURSE I have plans. For that matter, have you SEEN my schedule lately? Or, for that matter, at ANY time? I'm just not usually available for last-minute stuff, it's nothing personal, and seriously, most people I KNOW usually aren't available for last-minute stuff either! *sigh* He's going to have to get used to the idea that I'm rather more social than I was in highschool, I think. He's a nice guy, and I like him a lot, but he tends to have the idea that people don't change and that he can read people in the same way. Which, in this case? About as far from the truth as you can possibly get.
