Oct. 2nd, 2006 09:56 amSo I moved my stuff this past weekend, with help from the ever-appreciated
felis_ultharus and
ringthebells. Thanks so much, both of you. You have no idea how much I appreciate it.
So, I have a (very nice) apartment, which I'm rather pleased about. My own place! Yay! And a trip to Ikea with
hyperallergina added a kitchen table, chairs, and dishes to the mix, so I think I'm more or less set. All that's missing is the cat.
And can I mention how awesome it was to curl up in a bed that feels like my bed is supposed to feel, and on a pillow that feels like mine should feel, with a thick enough duvet, and flannel sheets (since the landlords still haven't turned on the heat, dammit)? THAT feels like home. Even if all my stuff is still in boxes and I can't find anything yet.
The downside, of course, is that I managed to smash my finger in the window, and that it hurts like hell. Also, the nail is completely dark purple except for the white rim on the edge - it looks like the goth version of a manicure or something. So, I have been assured that the nail will probably fall off and look horrendous for a few months, but as long as it stops hurting (doctor says max. a week - and this is where working in a clinic comes in handy) I don't really care. Also, typing while using 9 fingers is easier and more instinctive than you'd think. (Also, why is jumping up and down an instinctive reaction when squishing a finger?)
Oh, and I went to
ringthebells' and her husband's place yesterday for supper, which was awesome. There was stew, and conversation, and a Strange Cat, and geeky people. *bounce*
