Mar. 27th, 2003 10:27 pmI've been at the conferences all day. Entitled "People, Power, and the Environment", it turned out to be rather interesting. However, after having listened to 8 hours straight of speeches, and taken 21 pages of notes (both sides of the page), my hands were sore from all the writing, my butt was sore from sitting down all day, and my brain had turned to complete mush. But it was interesting, anyways.
My brother has become a source of perpetual amusement. He attempted to play basketball today, with some friends. And the front of his head made an unfortunate collision with the back of his friend's head. Resulting in a lump for his friend, and, for him, in the most spectacular black eye I've ever seen in my entire life. I mean it, his eye is completely swollen shut, and the lump has turned into a strange bluish-violet.
And so, given the appearance of his face, my sister has started calling 'Bossu de Notre Dame', because of his supposed resemblance to the Hunchback of Notre-Dame in the Disney version of the film. Of course, that didn't go over so well with him... *wince, smirk* But it was worth watching nonetheless. Much better than academic conferences, at any rate.
