Harry Potter and the Cup of Chocolate

foi_nefasteI went to see the Harry Potter movie today. With my parents, brother, and sister. The plus side, of course, is that this means that my mother is the one who paid for both movie and dinner (I'm currently waiting for paychecks from three different people - and god knows when they'll get here, but until they do, I'm kinda broke. Therefore, mother-given donations are truly and totally appreciated).
I'm seriously impressed with the movie - I'd go so far as to say that it's the best of the four. There was actual acting involved, which was an improvement on the last one. The bits they took out from the book are either bits I didn't much like in the first place, or they worked it well enough that it didn't affect the storyline much. So, congrats to whoever was working on it this time - well done! Also, in a more eye-candy-type of analysis... Hermione is growing up, and I'm going to a Very Special Hell. But she still looks way too young to be actually appealing - it's more along the lines of 'oh gods, she'll be SO hot in a few years'. The Weasley twins, on the other hand, have matured REALLY well. And the boys from Durmstrang - dear gods, YUM. Seriously. I'm... erm. Yeah. No comment. So, erm... yeah. Good movie. Good work on the storyline. The special effects are well-done (the dragons, to start with, rock). I'd rather like to see it again sometime soon, frankly. So, basically? Highly recommended.
After the movie, I took my parents and the kids to a French place on St-Denis. Well, French being relative - there are brilliant crêpes, but the true achievement of this place is the chocolaterie. The hot chocolate is closer to the Italian version than anything, and does not ressemble the American version at all. I'm on a complete chocolate high, and I'm in love with the taste. Dear god. SO good. Orgasmic, even. I'm going to return again, because there's something to be said for that much good chocolate at any one time. (Let's clarify - "soon" means after my essays are handed in.) But, anyways - next time I meet up with someone, that's where we're going. Oh gods, I'm in love with the place.
