So I spent last weekend in New Brunswick. Not a bad place, all in all, though the added incentive of having a boyfriend there certainly helped.
So, summary:
- Seeing Morris again rocked.
- Fredericton isn't a bad place at all.
- Spending par of the weekend basically combing the province for sources of role-playing books was great fun.
- I LOVE being with a geek.
- Spending the other part of the weekend in bed was also fun.
- Access to private rooms without roommates are to be encouraged in the future.
- Driving for 8 hours straight is NOT good for me, and makes my (already, at best, mediocre) driving skills suffer a great deal.
- St-John is a really pretty town, and I think I could be fond of it.
- I get kinda bitchy when I pms, and I'm sorry.
- Fredericton has the most wonderful used-book store EVER.
In a non-weekend-related list:
- I want to live in a province that DOESN'T shave 30% off my paycheck in taxes, thanks.
- I also want to live somewhere a bit farther from my family. Over 6 hours away should do, for a start.
- Data entry sucks, and is dull, and is making my brain turn to sludge and dribble out my ears.
- On the flip side of that, my bank account thanks me and I have money again.
- Office politics are hell. And are complicated when it's an all-woman work-space, and crying is an acceptable mode of reacting to unwelcome comments. Cheers for people sobbing in the hallway. *headdesk*
- Graduation is in a week. And the prospect is wonderful and quite welcome.
And yes, this counts as the weekly update - because work-monitored computers suck, and because I'm not fond of the idea of my mother locating this journal. There'd be some explaining to do, to say the least.
Anyways. I'll TRY to spend some time in Montreal soon-ish. And to see some people that I haven't seen in AGES. (Emily? Alice? Genevieve? ... )
