Mar. 16th, 2004 07:05 pmAs a general warning for anyone who might care, updates here will be periodic until the end of the semester. I've a pile of reading as high as my chair, added to exams and essays which are trying to take over my life. It's not appreciated, mind, but there's nothing much I can do about it.
Let's see... random stuff from the last week.
Guy Gavriel Kay's reading was awesome. He's a brilliant writer, and the way he reads is beautiful. And his new novel is excellent - what I've had time to read. Everyone should read at least one novel by him. It's essential.
Oh.. Has anyone here read any poetry by Jack Spicer? He's a lot like Ginsberg or Kerouac, but he's got a certain flair that makes his writing just that much more interesting. I stumbled into a book of his in the library today (and, considering the size of that place, it's a miracle I did), and, as of now, I'm rather interested.
And... in more personally related items... I went out with a guy this week. And have decided never to do that again. Because, while, in theory, some men are attractive, the problem remains in that I'm not particularly attracted. And I've no intention of thinking of England anytime soon, thanks. So... yeah. I need a girlfriend.
That's more or less my life, these days. Pathetic, I know... school and essays have taken over. At least my Renaissance Lit class is fascinating.
