Mar. 20th, 2003 06:28 pmI am at home. Alone. With two children, ages 8 and 12. No car.
My parents have turned their cell phones off, and so I can't get a hold of them.
And the handle on one of the toilets got stuck, thus emptying water out of the well, and jamming the pump.
And so, instead of writing essays, or proofreading or beta-ing, I've spent the last hour in the basement, oil up to my elbows, in my dad's work shirt, working on the water pump. And, it now works.
Of course, I've got to wait a few hours before actually using any water, since there's not much in the well, and we've got to wait for it to fill.
I loath looking like a bloody peasant.
Speaking of things I loath, what in all holy fuck is Bush attempting to do? I mean, I'm Canadian and all, but I still disapprove of this to the utmost extreme.
Am I the only one that sees the irony? Witness : 'Saddam is defying UN resolutions. So we'll go and attack him. By going against the UN...' Um. Yeah. *snort* Idiots.
